This is the third year that I've taken photos for The Baders and this year is extra special because they finally have their girl! I was very excited to meet little Lydia and take some portraits of the whole family plus grandparents at one of my favorite St. Louis parks: Bee Tree Park. Not much else to say except that all of the boys have started to get this whole "picture thing" down.

Remember Tiny Thomas? He's growing into a big boy right before our eyes! He's six months old already, believe it or not. I met up with The Roopes at Twin Oaks Park last Sunday and the fall colors were at their height! Thankfully we were able to catch all of the beautiful leaves before they fell onto the ground. It was a gorgeous day to be out, as you'll see from the photos!

I love doing engagement sessions. It's so much fun to get to know a couple that's getting ready to commit to each other forever. This is Sam and her fiancé, Joey. If you couldn't tell already, I've taken pictures of Joey's brother's family. Click the link and you'll see the resemblance. I accidentally called Joey by his brother's name a few times, but he put up with me. (Thanks, ~~John~~ JOEY.) Sam & Joey have been together for a few years and it's obvious that they're a good match for each other. We went to Castlewood State Park for their session and took in the fabulous fall colors.

They say that the third time's a charm! That's definitely true. I have been blessed to capture portraits of their family for three years now! Brody is growing into quite a little man. Last year, I had to chase him around. This year, there was only a little of that happening. I was able to coax a few more smiles out of him this year, so we will call that a win! Always a pleasure, Cody and Tara!

Tara and her husband Shane met one weekend in Kirksville. He was visiting a friend of hers and sparks flew. He asked her out and they had their first kiss at Thousand Hills State Park, the same place where he would eventually propose (in French, no less). Guys, are you taking notes? They've been together for ten years now and are starting a little family. Tara thought it would be neat to revisit the park that holds such a special place in their relationship. I missed my old college town plus the fall colors were just starting to pop, so I thought it was an excellent idea, too! We had a great time traipsing around the park just before sunset. Tara and Shane, you're gorgeous. Seriously, are you models? I can't wait to see what kind of gorgeous babies you make! You'll be excellent parents. Enjoy the ride!

I've known Kelly since college, so it's quite a trip for me to see her married with a baby! We all grow up so fast, don't we? She and her husband Tony have been together for nearly ten years, and last year right around this time they found out they were expecting. Lucas is such a sweet, happy baby! Kelly posts pictures of him smiling all of the time on her Facebook account, so I knew I'd have a challenge in front of me to get him to smile for this weirdo behind the camera (me). Usually that alone is enough, but Lucas was a tough customer. As you can see, I was able to coax a smile or two out of him! I had such a great time taking his three-month photos and look forward to capturing how he grows and changes within this first year!

I always enjoy taking family portraits for my good friends. I already know them well, so we can basically just hang out and then make some pictures while we do it! Noah is two and just a sweet little man who loves to explore! He's very talkative, too. We got him to sing a little bit of Itsy Bitsy Spider for us and it was off the hook. You know how we do it! Anyway, not much I can say about this sweet family except I was thrilled to take their portraits and I hope that they enjoy them!

Hi Everyone! This is Lainyn... she's a senior this year and you may recognize her from the photographs I took of her family last year. I met up with her in the early evening for a really fun session at her family farm. Lainyn raised these chickens on her own... how cool is that? She's hoping to study agriculture when she attends college next year.

Lainyn has an extensive scarf collection... this one is gorgeous but I want to borrow ALL of them!

I think this is one of my favorites. You can't look at this picture and not be happy. Sequins! Sun flare! STUPENDOUS SMILE!

I always enjoy meeting up with The Thompsons. I've known them for over two years now (I think) and little Luke is almost three. He's turned into quite the talker since I last saw him. The main reason for this session was to get some newborn photos of their latest addition: Evelyn Grey. Evie was just born three and a half weeks ago, so she's pretty new. Surprisingly, I was able to coax a smile or two out of her! (And a couple of yawns, but that's okay.) We met up at my house for some newborn pictures then traipsed into a slight meadow that I had just discovered within my subdivision.

Look at those smiles!

Those tall grasses, wildflowers and wild blackberries plus the gorgeous light of golden hour made this little meadow the perfect spot for some family portraits. Some photographers will only photograph during golden hour (the hour before the sun sets) and I've always understood why... the light is just so warm and glowy!

Luke had a really great time picking wild blackberries. I don't think he liked the way they tasted, so he fed a lot of them to Daddy.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with The Browns for a photo session in Forest Park a couple of weeks ago. We were blessed with a gorgeous, cool day... it definitely didn't feel like the end of July to us! We took advantage of it, for sure! Our journey began at the Boathouse then somehow we found our way near the Grand Basin! I worked up a sweat chasing young Tyler around! He's a very energetic (almost) three-year old and I discovered (with a little help from his parents) that he was game for anything I asked as long as he would receive a fruit snack in return.

I had a wonderful time getting to know you all! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer!

Last week, little Miss Anora Jane turned one! Family and friends gathered at her house last Saturday for a backyard birthday party. There were water balloons, a cardboard clubhouse, games and toys! I can't believe that a year ago, I was taking her pictures at four days old. She's grown up to be quite a big girl with quite a personality. She was constantly on the move and really enjoyed all of that cake! Happy birthday, Anora! Great job party planning, Ashley & Herb.

Aren't these little details great? Ashley and Herb did a great job setting everything up! I love the cake!

Hooch had to take a minute to cool down in the garage after all of that exciting party action!

This may be the first time that Ashley & Herb have seen this picture... it was all Zach's idea! This should be good to stash away to show Anora when she turns 21!

Every cake smash needs a good clean-up crew. Hooch was up for the delicious job!

Thanks for letting me capture Anora's first birthday party! I had such a great time and I hope that you enjoy the pictures! :)

I just love it when I get to meet up with new clients. The McAnallys were definitely not an exception. They were such a joy to work with, and we had a lot of fun exploring Babler State Park together! There were some bugs, there was a little bit of sweat (thankfully, it wasn't as hot as it could have been) and there was lots of laughter. As you can see, this family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of another little one!

Time flies... doesn't it? Teryn has gotten so much bigger and now she's a lot more mobile, which meant that she gave this photographer a workout! She's got quite the little personality. She's definitely a big fan of new people. She ran all around Shelter Gardens trying to make new friends!

Meeting up with Diego and his parents for his one year session was truly a delight. It's obvious to me that he's going to grow up to be a very handsome and cultured young boy! At one point during the session, right when Diego had enough of this picture stuff, he reached out to me. I didn't really know what he wanted, but realized that he wanted to touch my camera. Don't these two look like naturals? Thomas Michael was born at the beginning of May, but I'd say that they've adjusted quite well to his arrival.

TC and Liz found me through Lindsay & Garrett, and are just as awesome. Liz emailed me and told me that they weren't going to find out the sex of their baby... wanting to be surprised. I think in this day and age of high technology, it's kind of neat to wait and see whether you'll get a baby boy or a baby girl. I was honored to be chosen to take their newborn baby's first photos, and I hope that they enjoy them! Without further ado...

This is Dallas, the family dog. I can tell that his world was thrown off a little by Thomas' arrival... suddenly, he isn't the only baby anymore! But it's obvious that he already cares a lot for Thomas and is very protective of him. Dogs are awesome.

Thanks again, TC & Liz! I had a wonderful time meeting Thomas and I can't wait to watch him grow up!

I had the pleasure of meeting these three lovely ladies at Babler Park for a mini session full of bubbles, giggles and lellow! (That's what Addisyn calls food, I believe.) We had a very good time getting to know one another. Debbie is the proud grandmother of Addisyn and proud mother of Laura. Laura's expecting and Addisyn is scheduled to become a big sister in a few months! I spent most of the session chasing down Addisyn, but I don't mind. Sometimes that's the best exercise and I always enjoy capturing a toddler in her natural element! :)

I always enjoy sessions with my friends. They know me well, so I can sound completely ridiculous and it doesn't seem to phase them! My good friends Andy, Colleen wanted some springy photos to celebrate Andy J's first birthday coming up here next week! So we set out for Citygarden in St. Louis to make some pictures. It was a little colder than we were anticipating, so poor little Andy J had to take a couple of breaks to warm up. You'd never know it from these photos, though. He's such a little ray of sunshine! Very happy-go-lucky kiddo. I feel like I'm talking a lot, so like always, let's just let the photos do the talking. Away we go!

What's the secret to these smiles? Tickles from mama, of course! :)

These girls asked me to take their pictures to commemorate their friendship. I thought it would be fun and to be honest, I kind of wish I would have had someone do something like this for me and my friends. I'm sure it will be neat for them to look at these pictures as they all go off to their different colleges. It's nice to know that no one really gets you the way a good friend does.

They all brought an item that symbolizes what they'd like to do in the future. Faith wants to pursue music, Chastin would like to be a director (The clapboard says "4 Famous Girls"), Sue would like to be a writer and Sierra would like to be a veterinarian.

Hey, young world! This is Sadee. She'll be starting at Mizzou next fall and is hoping to study hospitality or restaurant management. She is an exceptional artist and has dreams of opening her own restaurant someday. I promised to eat there when it happens! She's good friends with Faith and Melissa, so she must have heard how goofy I was taking their senior pictures and wanted to see if I could replicate the silliness... let's just say that I did not let her down!

I realize that my blogging kind of fell by the wayside this holiday season... so let me catch you up on what I had been doing!

I had lots of fun taking these holiday portraits and really enjoyed receiving them as Christmas cards! :)

Now, back to editing another gorgeous senior session for you all. I promise I shall be blogging the way that I should from now on. Consider it a resolution? Or if not a resolution, a goal.

Faith, my last beautiful senior, is good friends with Melissa. Melissa liked the photos from Faith's senior session and asked if I'd take hers. I was more than happy to oblige! As you can see... Melissa is also a gorgeous girl and she's also very smart and talented. She's going to St. Louis this January to start her college experience with a double major of criminology and criminal justice. She's hoping to get a gig in the FBI, and I can tell that she's determined enough to reach that goal someday!

Mel, I wish you all the luck in the world as you head off to college. Enjoy the experience and the dozens of new friends you're bound to make with that bubbly and refreshing personality of yours!

I met Ken and Lori a little over ten years ago when I started figure skating, because Lori is the sister of my skating coach. Back then, it was just Ken and Lori, and they had just gotten married. Fast forward to the present, and they've got four beautiful children! I was telling the oldest that I think that the last time I saw him was when he was a little baby... it's crazy how time flies! We headed to Boulevard Park in Lake St. Louis for our session. We were blessed with a pretty mild day and a little bit of fall color and the kids had a blast running around.

I had such a great time taking your family photos, Ken and Lori! I hope that you enjoy them and have a great holiday season!

I was very honored to take Faith's senior pictures this year... she's the daughter of my husband's cousin... which would make her my second cousin in-law?? There's no really easy way to say that, so that's what it is! Faith is very beautiful, as you can tell from these pictures, but she's also very smart and talented. She's already a published writer at the age of seventeen. When she's not reading or writing poetry and short stories, she's making movies with her friends. She's also quite the talented artist. She taught herself to play the piano and the guitar and has taken up songwriting. While she was playing guitar for me during our session, I asked her if she ever thought about being in a band. She said, if she were in a band, it would be called "Beautiful Chaos." Good name!

Faith, I wish you all of the luck in the world as you start your college career. Everyone is so proud of you! Don't ever stop creating, because the earth without art is just "eh."

This is the second time that I've had the pleasure of taking family portraits for Tara and her family. Last year was a little easier because although her son was mobile, he wasn't very quick. This year, he's two and that's a whole different story! He was all over the place. Luckily, I don't take a challenge like that lightly... so I chased him around (what a workout!) and here's what I came up with.

In honor of Halloween, here's the session I had with my friend Vicky and her family. I've known Vicky since middle school, and it's so neat seeing her in her new role as a mommy. We met up at Rombach's Pumpkin Patch (which I'm told is a family tradition) and had a lot of fun. Her kiddos gave me quite the workout! We were running from one place to the next, but it was such a blast.

I was very honored to take family portraits for my good friends Colleen and Andy. I've known them since we were in college, hanging out and making bad decisions (Only sometimes! We were good kids, I swear...) — and so it's always nice to see them. They recently expanded, in the form of one smiling, adorable and sweet little Andy Junior! He is six months old already and this was the first time I was able to meet him. I wasn't shocked when I found a carefree, laid back little dude. He's got a really great disposition... must get that from mom and dad! That made for a good fall session with lots of giggles and tickling.

We have a little Halloween treat for you at the end! Spoiler alert: You could pass out from the cuteness.

Okay, enough talky talky. Here we go!

I had the pleasure of taking family portraits for the Kerleys last Saturday. The entire family had gathered to celebrate Zac's 21st birthday, so they decided to take advantage of the opportunity of being in one place to do some family portraits! I was more than willing to oblige.

One thing I love about my job is that I get to take a peek into another family's dynamic. Every family is different — we all have those things that will get on one another's nerves or drive our siblings up the wall, but when it comes down to it... no one knows you quite like family. It's kind of neat!

The birthday boy survived a minor roast and we got down to some pictures. Here they are, without further ado...

Zac's dog Beau decided he was part of the family, too. He didn't get the memo that you were supposed to smile, though!

Okay, yeah... I kinda got attached to Beau. He's a good boy!

It was so nice meeting you, Kerleys! Hope that Zac had a great birthday and that you enjoy the pictures. :)

The Luthers know how to party! This was by far, one of the most fun wedding receptions that I've ever attended. Their ceremony venue was transformed over the cocktail hour into an intimate dining room with delicious desserts, sweet and sentimental speeches, and a band that knew how to get funky.

Rachel's speech was very sweet. She was the Maid of Honor and is the bride's sister. Her son came over to comfort Ashley at one point. So cute!

The speeches were revealing at some points...

And then there was the first dance as man and wife — to Sarah Mclachlan's "Ice Cream." Good song!

After the traditional first dances, the party really broke out. Everybody swarmed the dance floor!

Stashley selected a really great band to perform at their reception. Hailing from St. Louis, Accolade filled the room with the sounds of Michael Jackson, The Temptations and Justin Timberlake, to name a few. I was dancing and taking pictures at the same time... they were so good!!

Like true St. Louisans, they had a Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard bar. FABULOUS idea!

In addition to the ice cream, there were cake pops. I did get to taste one of these and it was pretty much like a bite full of heaven.

Back on the dance floor, the ladies started to strut their stuff...

The guys were a little more goofy about it...

...and before you knew it, there were hair and ties flying around everywhere!

When it was time for the bouquet toss... an epic battle broke out.

The guys took the girls' lead... and another epic battle ensued. They look ready!

Megan and Josh survived the meleé and emerged victorious!

I don't know how well I can explain this next series of pictures, but I'll try. Chelsea was trying to convince Rich to give her a kiss because he was the only one of the JERKS whom she hadn't kissed before. As you can see in the middle, Rich's girlfriend Megan looks skeptical about the whole thing...

"It's happening..."

At the end of the night, Steve and Ashley made everything official!

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Luther! I hope that you have a wonderful life together in sunny California. I had such a great time photographing your wedding and I wish you well. :)

Ashley and Steve have been together since high school. That's a long time! So long, in fact, that their friends have given them an adorable nickname, a la Brangelina — Stashley. Although if I'm correct, I think that nickname has existed for nearly as long as they've been together.

They started off the day separately... they didn't want to break tradition! The girls got ready at the Marriott downtown while the guys got ready at the Hyatt.

Love this look on Dad's face... seeing his beautiful daughter as a bride for the first time!

Is it just me, or does Ashley exude Audrey Hepburn in this shot?

The drinks were red, and Ashley was a little wary about getting anything on her dress, so Leah devised a crazy straw plan that seemed to work out pretty well!

Caught up in Olympic fever! Either that, or just staring at the women's volleyball team's short shorts...

These are the JERKS. John, Eric, Rich, Kunal and Steve. I'm not good at explaining their whole thing, but I'm pretty sure that they formed the JERKS to critique films. Am I right? Minus Eric, they were a band: Detuned Radio. SA-WEEET! If Eric would join the band, this might be a fun album cover. Although it probably isn't serious enough for any of them...

I made them squeeze a little too close together! Luckily, they're all brothers, so they were cool with it.

The moment finally arrived...

I tell you what... my favorite part of a wedding is the look on the groom's face when he first sees his bride. See Exhibit A below.

Four of their friends gave speeches... and they were hilarious, thoughtful and insightful.

Their altar reminded me a lot of Ross and Emily's wedding on FRIENDS — candles everywhere. Don't worry though, Steve said the right name!

Gotta love the look on Ashley's face here... I guess she was having a tough time.

I've known Jessica since high school yet I still hadn't met her son Brennen until a few weekends ago! He's a very independent 4-year-old. Jess wanted some portraits of her and Brennen with her mother and stepfather, so I met up with them at Castlewood State Park and nothing was going to stop us! Except for a little rain, that is. It was pouring all morning. We ended up pushing our session back... then back again. And then when I finally met them at the park, it started raining again... but this time only lightly. So we went into the woods to use nature's umbrella and then the clouds lifted and the sun came out! It ended up being a gorgeous day.

noah's first birthday party [ballwin, mo]

Noah's mom and dad wanted his first birthday to be a memorable one, so they had all of their guests dress up in their best Cardinals paraphernalia and had me document the day with my camera. I had such a blast taking pictures of all of Noah's cousins and friends. They're a cute bunch, as you'll see. Right upon pulling up, I could see the immense amount of work that Lauren and Tom had put into planning and decorating! I love the baseball-themed details.

This is Noah's cousin, Emily, trying to give him a hug and kiss. I love the smug look on his face! I can tell that he's going to be a big heartbreaker when he gets older! Watch out, Lauren and Tom!!

After opening his presents, he was very interested in testing their potential taste...

Noah was a very demure cake smasher... he took his time and really enjoyed that icing!

The aftermath: that cake is in fairly good shape, all things considering!

Lauren and Tom, I had so much fun taking pictures for Noah's first birthday! I can't believe it's been a year already. Time is flying!!

My early morning session with the Delaneys started off well... the sun was shining, the air was cool and at long last, the grass was green somewhere! We met up at the Francis Quadrangle on Mizzou's campus. Collin wasn't really sure about this whole "picture" thing at first — but I think I won him over...

This photo was taken in front of the Residence on Francis Quadrangle... which after a quick Google search, appears to be haunted. Thankfully, the ghosts were quiet or in hiding that morning!

I had a really great time meeting up with Kira and her mom and dad! We stayed inside during this shoot for the most part, because I'm pretty sure that was one of the days where the high temperature was in the triple digits! Kira is six months old and just a content, happy baby. She's so adorable that I don't even need to say much here. Let's just let her cute expressions speak for themselves.

She's a little Cardinals fan! Gosh, I love it.

I call this her "magnum" look. Or maybe it's "blue steel"?

Next, we stopped at the pool to cool off a bit. Kira looked like a little 60's movie star in her swimsuit, but wasn't really feeling the water. I'm guessing that it was the drastic temperature change from hot to cold that upset her?

Then we took a couple of shots really quick with Mom and Dad. We had to hurry though, because just a few minutes outside equaled lots of sweating! Probably mostly on my part...

I had a blast capturing Kira at this age with her numerous fun outfit changes! Hopefully next time, it won't be so hot...

Are you ready to live vicariously through these pictures? This wedding reception was a blast... Megan and Chas really know how to throw a party. All of their guests met up for a cocktail hour with entertainment by a live band at the Sunset 44 Bistro in Kirkwood.

This was a cute idea... they had guests add their fingerprints to a tree rather than a traditional guestbook.

We did some normal looking family photos, but I think that all of the goofy photos were my favorite!

What's really fun is that Rachel, the maid of honor and bride's sister, caught the bouquet. Who caught the garter, you ask? Why that would be her boyfriend. :)

Thanks so much for having Laura and I help you capture your special day, Megan + Chas! You are a spectacular couple and I wish you all the happiness in the world. Go Cards!

I had the pleasure of photographing Megan + Chas' special day a month ago with my good friend, Laura. Thankfully, it wasn't as sweltering hot that day as it has been for the past few weeks! We started off the day getting ready at Megan + Chas' Kirkwood home.

One thing was clear to me the entire day... Megan and Chas have such a strong connection. When they were getting ready, I could tell it was difficult for them to be apart from one another, even for a couple of hours. Last minute text to Chas before the first look!

Boys always know how to get ready fast so that there's time to pregame!

The first look... things got a little emotional but really sweet.

We headed over to the downtown Kirkwood area for some outdoor portraits before the wedding ceremony.

Chas lit up when his bride walked down the aisle!

I know Lindsay and Garrett from high school, so taking their maternity pictures was so much fun – almost like a mini reunion! These two crazy kids are about to have their own crazy kid! They're having a baby boy in July and they are keeping the name under lock and key until he arrives! Understandable... I get the impression that it took them a while to come up with names because they just couldn't find one that sounded right. So they can't have anyone stealing their thunder!

We met up at Memorial Park in Brentwood to play in the woods. Thankfully, the trees shaded us from the hot sun... Since we're in Missouri, I'll just blame it on the humidity. Stupid humidity.

Their dog, Sadie calmed down after splashing in the creek and decided to pose for a portrait...

Sadie's got a pretty smile, doesn't she? :)

Congratulations, you two! I can't wait to meet baby boy Knowles... I'm sure he already knows that he's going to be arriving into this world with a very awesome and loving set of parents!

My friend Kate approached me to help her with this typographical design of her wedding vows as an anniversary gift for her husband. She framed it with a really gorgeous gold frame and it now hangs in their bedroom... a daily reminder of the promises that they made to one another on their wedding day. I should really do something like this for my own wedding vows!

For a lot of people, last weekend may have been a scramble to finish taxes before Tax Day, but since my taxes were already finished in February (I'm awesome, I know...) I thought I should scramble around doing something else. So I met up with the Brewingtons for a little Sunday family session in downtown St. Louis.

A little backstory... I've known Derek since high school and we've been doing awesome things together since 2001. He met his totally awesome wife, Elena, a few years ago and they're adorable together. I honestly think that sometimes, Elena is my soulmate, not Derek's. But I guess I can share her, Derek...

Little Luna is their sweet, sassy 16-month old. We had some time to bond during the car ride.

Once downtown, we went to the City Garden and ran wild and free.

Wheeeeeeeeee!

If it were up to mommy and daddy, Luna would grow up to be a scientist. Maybe she'll get there... but first she has to learn about chlorophyll!

Every time they swung her then put her back down, she wanted to swing again.

They kinda like each other...

Okay... kinda love each other. :)

I had so much fun with you all! Let's have another play date soon.

remembering boone

I've been trying to think of the right way to remember my family's dog, Boone. This picture helps tell a story that my words never could. Look at how happy he is. Smiling out at my family's farm, which my family affectionately calls, "Doggie Disney Land."

Unfortunately, last week, he was hit by a car and passed away. The sudden shock of losing a pet is a feeling I have never known before. Usually, when my dogs got older, I had a feeling that their time would be up soon simply because of their age. But Boone was only 5 years old... young, for a dog. He was snatched away from my family and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

I think that's been the hardest part for me... not being able to say goodbye. I'm glad that the last time I saw him, he was being a sweet dog and snuck up onto my lap while I was sitting on the patio talking with my dad and his friends. He was an expert snuggler. I like to believe that I taught him that when he was a puppy. I'd always sneak down into the basement right before bed and get down on the floor with him. He'd get into my lap and we'd just lay there. I'd tell him that he was my favorite. He still is.

His snuggling knew no bounds. He was sneaky... he would always try to snuggle with you wherever you were. If you were sitting on the futon, he'd come up and let you pet him, then turn around and just start sneaking his haunches up onto the futon, till he was about halfway onto it. Then, he'd look up at you with the most innocent look. Like, "Don't you want me to sit with you?" and that was it. Game over.

My sister loved Boone so much that she was inspired to get a dog of her own. I'm sure you've seen him around here... he serves as the mascot of my Facebook page. Boone and Finn were half brothers. "Brothers from another mother," we always liked to say. They were so much alike, and they had their own little rivalry in my parent's backyard. They would "joust" back and forth, competing for attention, much to the chagrin of my dad's lawn. After a few months, the grass turned into mud and now the backyard looks like a pig pen.

Boone seemed worried that he would be forgotten when Finn arrived, so he'd usually let Finn compete for attention, get bored and go somewhere else. I tried to make sure to greet Boone first every time both of the dogs were around, just so he knew who was my favorite. I'd like to think that he appreciated that.

Now, it's strange to only see one dog when I go home where I would usually see two. Finn and Boone were so much alike that sometimes I have to do a double take when I see Finn. Poor guy, I bet he's really confused and sad wondering where his jousting buddy is. I'll tell you where he is... Doggie Heaven aka "The Great Doggie Disney Land in the Sky."

I'm ready for spring! This weird, unseasonably warm weather (potentially caused by global-warming) has got me feeling like spring is right around the corner.

I took this picture last summer at my family farm.

What's your favorite season? I think that mine has got to be a tie between spring and fall. There's just so much change that occurs in both of those seasons that I think it makes them the most beautiful. It's just gorgeous when all of the flowers and trees start blooming with life, and just as magical when they change color before going into winter hibernation.

This weekend, Kevin and I had the honor of meeting Harrison... isn't he adorable? Our friends Chris and Colleen were blessed with him in December, and we got to visit with them this weekend. Harrison was having a kind of a rough day, but I was able to capture him chillin' out, maxin' relaxin' all cool... on the couch.

I may be slightly biased, because he's a baby that I know and not some stranger baby... but he's pretty darn cute.

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the wedding of an old college friend of mine, Heather. When I asked her what I should know about her wedding, she said, "It's going to be awesome." That pretty much sums it up. It was a sunny New Year's Eve with temperatures in the 60's... gotta love that crazy Missouri weather.

This wedding day was filled with lots of love, laughter, and "that's what she said" jokes. Now that's my kind of family!

On a very windy and slightly cloudy day near the end of December, I met up with Hilary and her boyfriend, Anthony. He's a Marine if you couldn't already tell. In the spirit of Christmas and being around the ones that you love, Hilary wanted a session to document her time with Anthony.

I've known Hilary for a while, as we used to figure skate together. That gave me a little confidence to challenge her and Anthony a bit... So, right off the bat, I kindly asked them to do a nice, big dip kiss a la "VJ Day in Times Square" by Alfred Eisenstaedt. This is the St. Louis version... what do you think?

They brought their dog, Coco, to the session. She was such a cutie...

...and as you can see, a bit camera shy. Anthony had to coax her into cheesing for the camera.

This is the Santiago family. How cute are they? I have known them since before they were a family... which sounds weird to say, but it's true. Julia and I used to play dress up at my house and rock out to Bob Seger songs on my mom's stereo (with our younger sisters and her younger brother) and her father is my godfather. So you could say that we're close. :)

When they asked me to do their family photos, I was excited. When they mentioned Forest Park, I was ecstatic. I love playing around Forest Park and whenever I go there, it makes me so nostalgic for St. Louis. The boys had a fun time running around, and I got a workout keeping up with them!

I've known Hilary since we were young and used to figure skate together. When we weren't skating in-line on the precision skating team, we were probably chatting on the boards when we should have been practicing during the free skate. Hilary first met Anthony during high school and they recently reconnected. I met up with them on a very windy and cloudy Friday afternoon in St. Louis. They wanted to give their family photo gifts for Christmas, so we ventured out into Babler Park on a nice November day with their Schnauzer pups. The day started off kind of gloomy, but the sun eventually came out just before the session was over!

I'm glad your family enjoyed their gifts, Morgan and Ian! I had a blast taking pictures of you and your fur kids. :)

I've known Morgan and Ian since we were young enough to share juice boxes and Snack Packs. We've been friends since kindergarten, and I have had the pleasure of knowing them both separately and together... and together, they just make a lot of sense.

Morgan & Ian got married a couple of years ago and are such a great couple. They wanted to do a little photo shoot with their two dogs, Charlie and Kitty, who also make a cute little couple...

Little Noah is 4 months young now. I can't believe it. It seems like it was only yesterday (it wasn't – it was August 17th...) that he was just a newborn little man, brand-new in this world.

Lauren and Tom seem to have their work cut out for them – Noah is such a chill baby. He definitely likes to sit back and take it all in. I met up with them at their home for a nice little session where we tried some posed portraits, then some floor time, then some more posed portraits and finally, Tom read Noah some stories.

I can't believe how big he is already! Gahh... they grow up so fast, don't they?

My dear friend from college, Theresa, and her husband Michael are expecting a baby this January! I met up with them last weekend and although it was rainy, we didn't let the weather keep us down. We started off with a little shoot in baby Luca's future nursery and then headed out to the Butterfly House in Faust Park!

Gretchen & Jonny are good friends of my husband's, which means that they're good friends of mine. They're both very excited to bring this baby into the world. I think it's really neat that two doctors are refusing to find out the sex of the child. It's the little things that keep life interesting. I said in my sneak peek post that I thought it could be a boy, but now I'm not so sure... hmmm.

Thanks so much for allowing me to capture some of your cuteness. If there's one thing I can say, it's that this baby is going to have some really awesome parents, that's for sure. I also get the feeling that this baby is going to be a really big Notre Dame Football fan because it's mommy and daddy's alma mater. Go Irish!

Met up with Gretchen & Jonny this past weekend. They're having a little one in December. They decided not to find out the sex of the baby, which is always interesting. I'm going to guess that they're having a boy.
